Sally Kirk
Bates Method:
‘I am very happy to recommend Sally. She is not only caring and patient; she has a way of explaining and demonstrating that is practical, fun and inspiring. I was encouraged by changes in my eyesight even during the first session. Thank you. Sally.’
Themah, Glastonbury.
‘Sally has a very gentle, low key approach to teaching the Bates Method which takes away the anxiety from doing something which can initially seem quite strange. Her explanations are clear and appropriately pitched, and she notices if there is any hesitation or uncertainty and responds accordingly. She has an array of colourful objects with which to “play” so that learning the techniques becomes fun rather than a chore, and this in turn brings about the relaxation which is essential to vision improvement. I think Sally’s knowledge of the Alexander Technique is also an asset as she can readily see how habits of tension, posture and movement can hinder relaxed seeing. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who has an interest in improving their vision.’
Barbara, Staunton.
‘Sally Kirk has really been interested in helping me with my eye problem. I have always been short sighted with dual vision but until recently had no particular worry with my eyes. I was getting older and so were my eyes! For a long time I have tried to follow – on and off – the BATES METHOD. However last year I was shocked after being told I had macular pucker and then incipient cataracts to experience not only such a lack of sensitivity but so much confusion and ignorance by optometrists, conventional doctors and eye specialists, both NHS and private. I was not given by any of these people either the time to ask questions, or any sensible information on the subject. I was just told to come back when the eyes became worse! No attempt was made by these well paid professionals to give me advice as to how I could at least help the eyes from deteriorating further and no attempt made to help me actually improve my eye health. There seemed too a general unawareness of the fact that a person’s general health and current circumstances has a bearing on ones eye health.
I recommend and praise Sally Kirk for her complementary approach to eye health, and her concern for my problem.’

Alexander Technique:
‘I have been learning and practising the Alexander Technique for 8 years and in that time have had several teachers.
Sally is a lovely person and a very competent teacher who I have been seeing monthly since February 2011. Not only do I feel very well after each lesson, but Sally has also taught me many useful new things which I can apply in everyday life and which have significantly improved my use and well-being. A very practical approach to the Alexander Technique that I find excellent.’

- I just wanted to say thanks so much for the fabulous Alexander Technique lessons. You have a wonderful way of getting across, in such a simple way, what can seem complex. The props you use to really help me to understand what my body is doing and what we are trying to achieve. As you are also Bates Vision Improvement teacher, it was beneficial to receive some information that could improve my eye sight. A big plus!! You have a soft and gentle nature and you’re really easy to get along with. I feel extremely comfortable in your care. With your gentle encouragement, explanations and unpressured approach, I feel confident that I can take what I am learning in your lessons and make permanent changes to my postural habits that will stand me in good stead for the rest of my life.
